Authentic Community-Large Group 3/6

Authentic Community

-Do you experience authentic community in your church fellowship or
is it more friendly socialization?
-Write about your small group community experiences.

-Think of the people around you. What are some real needs the real
you can meet?

-Describe some ways you can give your life to others.
Describe some ways you can allow others to give their lives to you.

Why Community Matters

-Why do you think Jesus commanded his followers to love one another
in the same manner with which he loved them?

-Write down what the people closest to you need the most right now.
What would it cost you to meet those needs?

-What makes you feel most connected to other people? How do you
communicate and receive love?

Experiencing Community

-In what ways do you project yourself as someone you think people will like?

-In what areas of your life do you struggle most with purity? How do
you hide these things from others?

-What is the difference between a real need and a convenient need?

-What needs are you most likely to meet? What needs do you avoid meeting?

-Rate yourself on both giving and receiving. Write about any difference
you see in your attitude toward each one.

-What is the difference between true humility and false humility?

-What have been some of your less than noble reasons for giving in the past?

-How do you feel when you do something special for someone and they fail to show
proper appreciation?

-In what ways do you think you can express thanks when you are treated like a servant?

-Name two or three “strangers” in your classes, dorm, or fellowship.

-How would Jesus have you express his love to them?

-Name two or three outcasts and unlovable people in classes, dorm, or
fellowship. How would Jesus have you express his love to them?
